The Lot of Fortune (AKA Fortuna) is a treasure, hiding in our charts. She is a powerful and often over looked player in our chart. Understanding how to work with Fortuna, offers us an entirely new way of approaching the chart, which provides practical information and guidance regarding real live matters including health and wealth.
For centuries, starting around the 2nd century BCE, Fortuna was considered to be one of the most important points in a natal chart; being on par with the Sun, Moon and Ascendant. Today this mysterious point is rarely used and poorly understood. Exploring the history and philosophical reasoning on which it is based, we come to understand how and why it was used.
In this presentation I will expand on Fortuna’s meaning and her importance as the Moon’s ASC. I will demonstrate how to find her in your chart and explore the ways to work with it in order to reveal the vast repository of insights that she has to offer.
About the Speaker:
Eve Dembowski is a practicing astrologer, teacher and publisher writer. She frequently presents workshops and lectures on astrology and astrological philosophy and was one of the conveners of the 2009 and 2010 Regulus Traditional Astrology Conference held in Melbourne.
Her ruling planet Jupiter directs her passion for reconnecting people to the power and magic of their astrological lineage through her teaching. In 2013 she became a tutor for the School of Traditional Astrology, presenting the STA horary certificate course online and as in-person intensives. She is the author of ‘The Foundation of Astrology: an introduction to classical natal astrology”, which she has been teaching since 2017.
As well as her Master's Level Diploma in Horary from the STA, Eve's astrological qualifications also include the Diploma of Applied Astrology from Astro-synthesis, a certificate in medieval astrology from Robert Zoller, and the FAA practitioners Diploma, in which she was awarded the silver medal of excellence for the Interpretation exam.
