Asteroid Hekate – Empowering the Feminine
presented by Kerri Stewart
When the Goddess was worshipped the Crone, keeper of her wisdom, was revered by all but patriarchal society has had no role for her. So feared by the patriarchy was the Crone she was cast as Witch, the most reviled Feminine archetype, and attempts were made to banish her.
While modern women now have the right to vote and the freedom to choose whether they marry or have children they still grieve the loss of the sovereign Feminine. Reclamation of Her power has been lamentably slow with the Feminine arts still disregarded, mature women still largely invisible to society and the homeless woman now the new ‘witch’.
In this lecture we meet Asteroid 100, named in honour of Hekate, a potent ancient Greek goddess associated with the Crone archetype and the Dark Moon lunar phase. We take a look at her mythology, a range of methods for working with her in the chart, and we consider the fuller implications of the Crone’s return to the Collective consciousness.
